ART INSPIRED BY CHILDREN’S PICTURE BOOKS: Session I

Wednesdays 3:15-4:15

In this art class, children will explore beautifully illustrated picture books, creative storylines and much loved characters of children’s picture books old and new. From Eric Carle's House for Hermit Crab to Wish: Wishing Traditions from Around the World we will focus on books that explore humor, cultures, nature, empowering characters and creative imagery. Each week we will read a themed children’s picture book and create an age-appropriate painting!

LILA PAINTERS:

ARTWORKS OF THE MASTERS-"MONET TO PICASSO"

In this art class, children will explore a variety of artworks created by the European Masters. From Monet's Bridge Over a Pool of Water Lilies to Picasso's Guitar, each week we will explore an artist and read a themed picture book and/or look at images of their work. Each class the children will create an artwork inspired by an artist or artistic style.
